Mojo running at the beach

In my opinion, what sets Robin apart from other trainers who have achieved great personal success in their chosen sports is that she is also an amazing teacher, as well as a genuinely wonderful person.  Robin is gifted with those all-important, yet rare qualities of endless patience, understanding, and a sense of humor.  Plus, she can clearly read and communicate with not only her stock and her canine student, but her human student as well!

I came to Robin with what must have been one of the world’s unlikeliest herding candidates - an adult mutt of completely unknown origins that I had found wandering the streets of central Los Angeles - and yet, from the very start of our relationship, she never failed to treat us with anything but the utmost kindness and respect.  Most importantly to me, however, was the fact that Robin was completely open-minded, and even happy to give Mojo his chance to succeed, despite appearances.  After all, I live with Mojo, and all his strange herding-breed idiosyncrasies, so I had never doubted for a minute that he had at least some herding instinct--but did he have actual working ability?  I remain so grateful that Robin was willing to find out!

While we had been frustrated by other experiences with instructors who were quite ready to dismiss Mojo before we had even begun serious training, Robin was happy to give Mojo all the same opportunities to prove himself that she would have given to a dog with a more illustrious pedigree.  With that necessary structure and attention, it became readily apparent by even our second lesson with Robin that Mojo really *might* have what it takes to be a stockdog someday!  I never thought I would actually get to see my dog fetch sheep, but because of Robin, I even have Mojo's very first fetch immortalized on video!  I truly could not be more pleased with having found Robin, and I am absolutely certain that she will take Mojo as far along in our stockdog journey as his own level of talent will allow, which is all I’ve ever wanted for him!  Thank you so much, Robin!
