Page 6 of 9 ![]() In 1997 we adopted an untrained, out of control Australian Cattle Dog. After a year, we knew that she needed something other than a tennis ball, a Frisbee and basic obedience. A friend suggested we try herding, and that's how we met Robin. Three sheep, Robin, a round pen and Misty. That's all it took for a light to go off in the head of a very stubborn dog. Robin is amazing. She has the patience of a Saint and is not a one dimensional trainer. Each dog is handled differently according to it's needs. I have both a Border Collie and the Cattle Dog, and have worked with Robin with both dogs. Lessons are not "one size fits all". The Cattle Dog has to be taught differently than the Border Collie. And Robin understands the needs of each dog and brings out the best in each dog. Whenever my dogs have entered competitions, win or lose, they have always received the highest praise from judges concerning their training and potential. I never mentioned that I am a city girl. Robin has taught me how to read both my dogs and the sheep. Her techniques are concise and understandable, even to a total novice as myself. ~ Myrna S. & Misty ~ |
